Unreliable narration is a major area of interest due to its growing popularity among contemporary authors. The goal of the present study is to analyse the intertextual connections between the narrative modus of Nabokov’s Pale Fire and the unreliable film narration in Blade Runner 2049. The methodology of the study includes comparative analysis, close-reading, and close-watching. The research demonstrates that the subjectivity of the film protagonist, an android Agent K, is influenced by his reading of the said, while the film finale deconstructs its plot. The narrative elements of Nabokov's novel used in Blade Runner 2049 are essential in unravelling the film’s thematic modus. The first chapter describes the key terms for work. The second chapter examines the features of the two narrative lines in the novel Pale Fire, their role in the construction of the artistic world and the reader's perception. The unreliable narration in Blade Runner 2049 and its intertextual basis are explored in the third chapter.
