The aim of the work is to describe the contexts and some aspects of poetics of the first book of Andrey Voznesensky “Mosaic”. The book was published by the Vladimir book publishing house in the middle of the period known as “Khrushchev thaw”. Andrey Voznesensky became a very famous poet in the extremely short time. By publishing this book, he wanted to state himself as a professional poet and become one of the young poets on this time. The publication of the book was accompanied by the following circumstances: magazine editors were focused on finding new names in the literature, censorship requirements were slightly eased, the "teacher" of the poet B.L. Pasternak was banned. All these circumstances could have influenced the poet's choice of a provincial publishing house close to Moscow. The publication of the book was accompanied by dramatic circumstances: part of the circulation was withdrawn from the middle of the stores, the cut out text of the collection was censored, and the editor of the publishing house was fired. Thus, A. Andrey Voznesensky's debut can be called a compromise in every sense. The circumstances of the publication also could have influenced the structure of book: texts that did not diverge from the ideological convention were placed at the beginning of the collection, in the middle were placed poems that made the poet’s name. The two principles on which the poetics of the book are built are "compromise" and "mosaicism", expressed at compositional and stylistic levels, including the synthesis of literary traditions that are represented in the book. Thus, Andrey Voznesensky made his debut as a true poet of the sixties, for whom it is important to refer to the era of the 1920s.
