The issue of literary myth in Russian poetry is an increasingly important area of interest. A considerable amount of literature has been published on the literary myth and aliases of Pavel Vasiliev, including studies by Khomyakov, (2007), Krivoshchapova (2011), Kargashin (2018). However existing research into Vasiliev's literary myth has been limited by his the most famous pseudonym, which is Mukhan Bashmetov. The purpose of the present study is to analyze some other poet's mystifications, which represent his literary myth. Many works by P. Vasiliev represent “the mastery of Russian poets’ absorption of another civilization, which has its own internal structure and attitude to life, fundamentally different from those in European and Russian culture” (Khomyakov, 2007). Using the cycle "Poems of Mukhan Bashmetov" as an example, it is possible to consider this ratio, focusing on the stylization of works which is of scientific interest. To achieve this goal, the following tasks should be achieved. To explore the history of publications of the cycle "Poems of Mukhan Bashmetov". To elaborate the theoretical part of the question of stylization and mystification. To give a detailed analysis on the works of P. Vasiliev, which became a reason literary myth has been created. The practical significance of this work lies in the fact that its results can become the basis for creating the history of a literary myth, since at the moment there is no reliable source of publications of these works.
