Year of Graduation: 2021

The post-Soviet region has become an important region in the geopolitical interaction between the European Union and the Russian Federation. The two actors are effectively pursuing different foreign policy paths and using very different policy tools when engaging with the post-Soviet countries with the aim of deepening regional cooperation and integration within the region. How do the European Union and Russian Federation pursue these objectives? What impact does the presence of two very different actors have on the post-Soviet region? An investigation into the bilateral relations of the two actors and their interactions with the region allows for a deeper understanding of the current events taking place and can help better predict the next evolution in relations between the countries and the post-Soviet region.
