According to many researchers, intrinsic motivation is one of the main factors of work engagement. During the research the problem of work engagement management was analysed, as well as the relationship of this phenomenon with intrinsic motivation. 55 employees of the Novosibirsk Zoo have participated in the study, the questionnaire was based on the methodology for measuring the level of work engagement Q12 and the methodology for classifying types of motivational behavior by V.I. Gerchikov. It was assumed that the studied phenomena would show a strong correlation, and the professional type of motivation will have a high level of work engagement, while the instrumental type will show a low level of work engagement - both hypotheses were refused, which may be due to incorrectly selected methods of motivation.
