Chinese Conflict Management Strategies in Business Negotiations with Russian Counterparts

The aim of this thesis is to examine Chinese conflict management strategies within the context of business negotiations with Russian counterparts. To achieve this objective, the following research tasks were undertaken: defining the concepts of conflict and intercultural conflict, its unique characteristics; identifying conflict management strategies in intercultural communication and approaches to their measurement; analyzing ideas of conflict in Chinese philosophy and military treatises; identifying Chinese conflict management strategies on the basis of existing empirical research; analyzing the author's field materials on cases of conflict interactions between Russians and Chinese during business negotiations. The scientific novelty of this study is that the source of it are real cases of interactions between Chinese and Russians at business negotiations.
