In VirusHack, a hackathon organized by Rostelecom, a team of students from the HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE) finished among the competition’s winning teams. More than 1,000 competitors from different regions of Russia presented 240 projects before the jury of the hackathon, which was held remotely.
Experts, participants and moderators gathered to share their predictions about the future of the humanity after the pandemic. What paradigm will replace anthropocentrism? What will happen to globalization, consumer civilization, and megalopolises? How will the virus impact policy and democracy and what will post-COVID ethics and anthropology look like?
What does the post-COVID future have in store for museums, universities, and the media? Does big data protect us or pose a threat? What are the prospects for fashion shows, cinema, and theaters? How are different generations experiencing the pandemic? These and other issues were discussed at the annual festival of communications, design, and media.
March 15 is the deadline for nominating candidates for the HSE Alumni Awards, which are given to outstanding alumni of HSE University. This year, the awards will be given in ten categories.
‘This Laugh Is Going to End in Tears’: Exhibition Featuring Russian Artists Opens at HSE Art Gallery
Art works by Ivan Gorshkov, Dmitry Kavka and Danini are on display at the HSE Art and Design School gallery. The exhibition will run until March 22.
The concert, ‘Music of the Spirals of History’, which was held on February 20 at HSE’s Cultural Centre on Pokrovka, featured the HSE Symphony Orchestra along with visual effects produced by the educational project ‘Classical Music in Focus’. The project aims to bring classical music to a new generation of music lovers. The sold-out musical event was open to the public.
Fabrika Centre for Creative Industries will exhibit the project ‘The more we contemplate, the less we live’ by Alexandra Kuznetsova, Curator at HSE School of Art and Design and laureate of the sixth session of ‘Fabrika workshops’.
HSE University hosted its long-awaited student festival ‘Night’ at its building on 11 Pokrovsky Boulevard Thursday. Featuring 12 hours of lectures, games, master classes, music, and conversation. It was a night no students, lecturers or guests had any time for sleep.
On December 4, the HSE ART GALLERY opens a pre-auction exhibition of works by students of the HSE Art and Design School. Within two weeks, the exposition will be available to all lovers of contemporary art, after which it will go to GUM, where the pieces will be put up for auction at the joint New Year’s SAMPLE and the HSE ART GALLERY auction.
Maxim Oreshkin, Russian Minister for Economic Development and HSE alumnus, met with HSE students at the invitation of the HSE Business Club. He answered their questions and spoke about the key areas of his ministry’s work, his life values, and difficulties on his career path.
