Intercultural communication

On November 21 Fons J. R. van de Vijver (Professor, Tilburg University, The Netherlands,President, International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology (IACCP)) took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar with the report on "Intercultural communication".

This report was devoted to considering the problem of intercultural communication. Communication is an important part of daily life, but what do you do when you need to communicate with someone from another culture? Intercultural communication implies the verbal and nonverbal interaction between people from different cultural backgrounds. Such kind of communication is not simply a language proficiency. Some special skills required for proper communication with representatives of other cultures.
