HSE is proud of every graduate. They are confident in their abilities, they are responsible, and, when circumstances require, daring. They never miss an opportunity, they work efficiently, and they celebrate their successes with utmost modesty.

After years spent together in lecture theatres and engaging in many hours of stimulating debates, our graduates are looking forward to getting together to celebrate their success, and to express their gratitude to their families, friends and mentors. Then, of course, to hit the dance floor, do their best to win prizes as part of a packed entertainment program, and in the morning, to enjoy a well-deserved day off before tackling the exciting challenges ahead.

Be a Hero

The main goal has been achieved - to graduate from HSE. Before moving on into the big wide world, we invite you to spend a night with us in the world of secret agents, bowties and tuxedos, and exciting opportunities.

That’s right, you guessed it! This time around our theme is The World of 007. The program includes charismatic performers, espionage, adventurous contests and dancing and music until the wee hours of the morning. The evening will culminate in the performance of a secret guest, whose name is yet to be revealed.

How it Used to Be

The first graduation party was held in 2013 at the open-air stadium ‘Luzhniki’. Graduation robes, throwing our caps into the air, official congratulations and a concert – this was the backdrop which set a high benchmark for future celebrations.

Since 2014, every graduation has been celebrated according to an engaging theme. ‘Back to the Future’ was a hit with all our guests, who were met by Marty and the brilliant scientist, Doc, upon their arrival. The graduates were in a time machine of their very own, remembering their student experience and reflecting on the future ahead.

In 2015, Yaroslav Kuzminov personally congratulated HSE graduates on their transition to the ‘dark side’, appearing on stage as Darth Vader. For one night, graduates were transported to a distant galaxy as Jedis.

In 2016, the theme of the evening was technological progress, and last year, Harry Potter. After all, everyone knows that HSE is just like Hogwarts (the only difference is that magic can’t be used in LMS!)
