Practical Training

Practical training is a form of educational activity during studies under a given degree programme, with learners completing certain types of tasks, related to their future professional activities and aimed at building, consolidating, and developing practical skills and competencies specific to the respective degree programme. The goals and objectives of practical training shall be attained through the implementation of PTEs. Practical training for HSE University students shall be implemented as part of the “Internship” module under a DP curriculum.

The procedures for the organization and holding of practical training elements (PTEs) for degree students at HSE University are governed by Regulations on Practical Training of Students under Core Bachelor’s, Specialist and Master’s Programmes at HSE University

Project

Since the academic year 2020/2021, the AE educational programme has moved to a new model of student project work. An obligatory element of the curriculum for graduate students of all years of study is the Project, which includes project work, accompanied by a research project seminar, as well as by writing course and diploma papers. Projects bring together undergraduate and graduate students from different years of study working on similar topics. 

The organization of project work at the faculty is carried out by the project office, under the leadership of the Academic Supervisor Nikolay Pilnik. If you have any questions, write to fes-projects@hse.ru

Master's Thesis

Students should formulate the topic with their Research Supervisors and apply for Master's Thesis in the special LMS module. The student has the opportunity to introduce an initiative Thesis topic. All student applications are accumulated in the Research Supervisor's LMS account, where they are confirmed or rejected (with an indication of the reason). After the topic is approved by the Research Supervisor, it must be approved by the Programme Academic Supervisor. 

Students should apply for a Thesis topic no later than 20 November 2021 (topics should be approved by Research Supervisor and Programme Academic Supervisor).

The change of Research Supervisor of Thesis is possible till 20 March 2022, change of Thesis topic is possible till 31 March 2022 via the special LMS module. Topics should be again approved by Research Supervisor and Programme Academic Supervisor.
