Teaching Quality Assessment for Module 4 Has Started
On May 20, Teaching Quality Assessment commenced for the fourth module. Read on to learn about new features that have been introduced to the process and important deadlines.
Traditionally, the assessment includes subjects that either conclude in the fourth module or in which a midterm grade is assigned. You can learn more about how to participate in the assessment and fill out the survey on the project's website.
Until June 9 (23:59) HSE students have an opportunity to assess the quality of their teachers’ performance, to express their opinion on the organization of the teaching process, and, of course, vote for who they think are the best teachers via their LMS account (select the ‘Assess your courses’ option).
What’s new in the Teaching Quality Assessment?
Students will be offered several new assessment categories related to the transition of HSE courses online both in the last few years in general and in the last two months in particular:
- A new criterion for assessing academic subjects, ‘Course adaptability to remote learning’ (how suitable it is for online learning);
- A new criterion for assessing teachers, ‘Preparedness to conduct classes in remote format’ (how successfully they conducted classes in Zoom, MS Teams, or other platforms);
- Separate fields for the assessment of MOOCs (mass open online courses that are provided in students' curricula);
All these changes will help to collect as much student feedback on HSE’s transition to distance learning as possible.
While the criteria concerning distance learning caused by the pandemic of this module and the return to the normal functioning of the university, most likely, will not be relevant soon, the MOOCs blocks in the student assessment will remain due to their increasing role the educational process.
