1 st yearsStudents of the program Alexey Dertev and Alexander Starshinov took part in a scientific conference of young orientalists held by the IFES RAS.

On 26-27 November 2020, the VIII International Scientific Conference of Young Orientalists on the theme "East Asia: Past, Present and Future" was held at the Institute of Far East Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences in online format.

1st year students of the of the “Socio-economic and political development of modern Asia" master's program Alexey Dertev and Alexander Starshinov took part in the conference.

On the first day of the event Alexey Dertev presented his research named "The Chinese Gaming Market and the State: Past, Present and Future", which received a wide response from other participants.

Later, on 27 November, Alexander Starshinov presented the work called "Hujinguk-Sonjinguk Dichotomy and its Influence on Korean Political Discourse", dedicated to the analysis of socio-political processes in South Korea.

Despite technical difficulties that stem from holding the event online, participants managed to maintain a high level of discussion. All in all, the conference was attended by over 60 young scientists and students representing various academic institutions.
