Master's students from the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology participated in the 5th Russian Microbiological Congress

HSE Master's students Armen Akopdzhanyan and Alina Bogdanova from the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology successfully presented their research at the 5th Russian Microbiological Congress, which was held in Volgograd from September 29 to October 3.

Young HSE scientists presented their research during poster sessions, where they presented the results of their current research projects. Their research topics covered a wide range of modern microbiology — from the search for new entomopathogenic and phytopathogenic fungi from lichens in northern Russia to the study of yeast isolated from the milk of various animals for microbial technology solutions.

Participating in the congress is an invaluable experience that allows you not only to receive expert feedback on your work from leading specialists but also to learn about the latest trends in microbiology and establish professional contacts for future collaborations.

Students noted the high level of organization of the event and the rich scientific program, which allowed them to immerse themselves in current issues and discussions in modern microbiology.

"It was a fantastic opportunity to learn about the current state of Russian microbiology," shared the second-year master's students. "Discussing our work with renowned scientists gave us new ideas for further experiments. And the atmosphere of scientific inquiry and enthusiasm that pervaded the congress was incredibly inspiring."
