FBB Master students applied for scholarships of the President of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Russian Federation

Scholarships are awarded to students who have shown outstanding academic and scientific ability

One of the candidates for the scholarships of the President of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Russian Federation is Roman Suvorov, a second-year Master's student. He is the author of several articles, including the recently published article ‘Incautious design of shRNAs for stable overexpression of miRNAs could result in generation of undesired isomiRs’ in the Q1 journal. Together with colleagues from the International Laboratory of Microphysiological Systems and the Institute of Biological Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Roman discovered problems in a popular method of gene overexpression using shRNAs that were not described earlier.

 

In early September, Roman spoke about his achievements in an interview in the TC Kultura programme ‘Black Holes. White Spots’ (from 33 min).
