Neuropsylab NUG seminars on: " Evaluating task demand "

Place: Armyanskiy per. 4, c2, Moscow, 101000, room 414 Date and time: April 09, 2018 at 14.00.     Speaker: Head of NUG project “Brain responses to mathematical operations of increasing complexity”; Marie Arsalidou, Assistant Professor of the Department of Psychology

All tasks and cognitive activities that we choose to engage in have a certain level of complexity.   Evaluating the demands posed by a task is particularly important when developing a new experiment.   Meta-subjective task analysis is a rationally based approach used to predict the mental demand of a task.   This method incorporates both relevant situational features, individual characteristics and theory-predicted constrains to identify an appropriate strategy.    This seminar will discuss the theory of constructive operators as a framework for evaluating the mental demand of a task.
