Regulations for Term Papers and Theses Prepared by Students of the Bachelor’s, Specialist and Master’s Level at the National Research University Higher School of Economics

Term papers and thesis works under Master’s programmes are an integral part of the learning process. Due to the introduction of the project-based model of learning, term papers and thesis works are a part of project activities, implemented in project groups. Please find below the Guidelines for Writing Term Papers and Thesis Works for Master’s Students in the “Strategic Corporate Finance” Programme.

Students should formulate the topic with their scientific supervisor and apply for Term Paper/Thesis topics in the special LMS module.  The scientific supervisor can be a supervisor or one of the co-supervisors of your Project. You cannot prepare the paper outside your Project. Term paper/Thesis topic should be proposed by the students as an initiative. Don’t forget to agree on the topic in both Russian and English (even you write it in English, you need to have a topic in Russian since it goes to the supplement to diploma which is in Russian; supervisor should help you with this)

Students should apply for a topic no later than 15 November 2020 (form 15 to 20 November the topics will be approved by Research Supervisor and Academic Supervisor of the Programme).

The change of topic/Research Supervisor of Term papers is possible till 20 April 2021.

The change of Research Supervisor of Thesis is possible till 20 March, change of Thesis topic is possible till 31 March 2021.

Topics/Research Supervisors change can be made in the special LMS module.

The deadline for uploading a Term paper to LMS is 21 June 2021 (23:59)

The deadline for uploading a Thesis to LMS is 10 May 2021 (23:59)
