The master’s programme in Demography accepts Duolingo English Test results

Starting from the 2023 admission campaign, the Demography Master's programme has significantly expanded the list of language certificates and other documents accepted as part of the portfolio. Along with others, the results of the Duolingo English Test are now accepted.

The Duolingo English Test is an online English proficiency test that can be taken online, on-demand, in under an hour. The test is taken via a computer with a camera and includes a proficiency score, video interview, and writing sample which are shared with the master’s programme in Demography when you send your results. Certified results are available within 48 hours of the test session.

In addition to the Duolingo English Test, the following certificates are also accepted: DALF/DELF, IELTS, TOEFL, CAE, CPE, BEC, FCE, ILEC/ICFE, DSH/DaF and LingvoTest, if available. Other international language certificates and other forms of proof of language proficiency are also accepted, such as the results of independent English language exams at the Higher School of Economics, theses presented at international conferences in a foreign language, publications in a foreign language, documentary evidence of advanced language training, including at school level, and so on. The EF SET Certificate is also accepted for consideration if other supporting documents are available.
