Schedule for Sept 15-20

Dear first-year students!

The schedule for the third week (Sept 15-20) is available at the link. It will be published this way until you are assigned to the tracks. We will notify you when your personal timetable is available in your HSE App X account.

Before your student e-pass is issued, to enter the building you need to have your ID with you for the secutiry to check. How to apply for an e-pass: For First-year students, section 2.

How to use the schedule (firstly, scroll further to the right until Saturday :) ):

1) columns = weekdays, rows = lessons.

2) Each class is described as follows:

• course title + language of instruction (classes taught in English are written in English)
• class type (lecture or seminar) and room number. EEP programme studies in the Pokrovka campus. NB. If the class type includes seminar group number (i.e. "seminar group 2"), it means that you only need to pick one of them and attend one seminar in a week, not all of them. The exception is Mathematics for Economists. The group distribution for this course will be sent later.
• the list of tracks for which the course is taught. Abbreviations:

QMEF - Quantitative Methods in Economics and Finance

Applied - Applied Economics

Research - Research in Economics

EFB - Economics and Research Behaviour

3) For the first week and a half you can attend various classes to make a decision about your track preference. We recommend you to look through the curriculum to have a better understanding of the possibilities and requirements. Shortly:

• first-year courses that are compulsory for all tracks: Introduction to Python, Mathematics for Economists, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Econometrics, Methodological Research Seminar, Mentor's Seminar, Project. There are also varying compulsory courses for each track (see the curriculum for details).
• Research in Economics track runs in English. The course of Advanced Macroeconomics-2 will start in module 2.
• Applied Economics track allows you to comprise your study plan in English. There are two options of Macroeconomics in English: the first one starts in module 1, the second one starts in module 2 and is of a more advanced level, taught together with the Research in Economics track.
• Tracks QMEF and EFB require knowledge of Russian language (to some extent).

4) Organizational meetings and meeting with the academic supervisor and timeslots for providing the documents to the study office are also included in the schedule. Tracks presentations will be added later.
