Course Syllabus

Abstract

The course gives students the opportunity to master their skills of image editing which is a very important part of a news production process. It is especially important to verify the quality, credibility, and the copyright clearance of the present-day images. This is a very important group of skills for the future specialists in international news production.

Learning Objectives

• To get the student acquainted with the development patterns in the modern media
• To introduce the basic principle of image production
• To master the basic tools for picture making
• The teach the skill for selection and editing the pictures of the various types
• To introduce the advanced principles of the visual storytelling

Expected Learning Outcomes

• know the development paradigm of the visual age
• can differentiate between various types of visual images
• use the correspondent tools to produce various types of visual images
• mastered the basic principles of photo production
• possess terminology of photo production
• set editorial tasks for photographers for multimedia content
• know the operational pattern for image layout on the webpages
