Selection to the HSE Jessup team for the season 2024 is officially open!

The Philip C. Jessup Competition was established in 1959 as a competition in international law, which is a simulation of a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice, the judicial organ of the United Nations. To date, the Jessup Competition is the largest and the most prestigious international law competition in English.

The HSE Faculty of Law team has successfully taken part in the Russian rounds of the prestigious competition in international law named after F. Jessup (International Law Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition), held from February 1 to 5 in in-person format.

HSE University is the top-ranking Russian university in four THE World University Rankings by Subject 2020/21. In addition, HSE has placed in 8 out of 11 subject categories, thereby confirming its status as a multidisciplinary university.

Stability is a sign of skill // HSE’s memorials at Jessup enter top-10 internationally for the third year running

On 25 April 2020 the online awards ceremony of the Jessup 2020 competition aired from Washington D.C. It is with great honor that we have come to realise that HSE’s memorials have been awarded 7th place out of more than 700 teams competing worldwide and 150 teams qualified for the international rounds. Last year HSE scored world’s 1st place best memorial (for the first time for Russian teams in the history of competition), and a year earlier – 6th place.
