Professional excursions of business psychologists: Best Practice or acquaintance with what already works well and can be used further

On April 21 and 22, the 2nd year students of the program visited it company Tenzor in Yaroslavl.

As you know, the master program Business Psychology is famous for its various forms of education. Workshops, conferences,  summer schools and much more. This year, they were supplemented by professional excursions organized by the program as a form of internship.
Professional excursions are, first of all, an opportunity to get acquainted with the experience of our colleagues - business psychologists. But it's also a good way to spend your weekend pleasantly and profitably.
The excursion was organized by the company Tenzor, where Anna Toropova, our graduate, business psychologist, is working at one of the leading positions. This company is the  leader in it - electronic document management systems. The main capital of the company is talented IT specialists who develop  the company's products.
Teachers and students of the program got to know how  to create a productive working environment for key personnel of the company. Why is it important to test personnel before investing resources in decisions, and how the competencies of a business psychologist help to cope with the complex tasks of personnel management.
An important role in choosing the place of professional excursion was played by the location of the head office of this company - the ancient Russian city of Yaroslavl. This city, founded by Prince Yaroslav the Wise more than 1000 years ago, at the beginning of the 17th century was the capital of our state. It was there that the sixth part of the most influential merchant class of Russia lived.
For us, modern business psychologists, it was important to understand many issues: How is history and modern business connected? Why exactly in this city is concentrated such a number of industrial enterprises? What influenced the formation of a special business space?
April 21 and 22 students of the 2nd year of the program "Business Psychology" held in Yaroslavl. The purpose of the trip was to get acquainted with the cultural and business environment of the city.
On Saturday, Anna Toropova, the head of the recruitment department of Tenzor's branch network (and a graduate of our program), conducted a tour of the company and told how the recruitment process is going on. Anna  showed the technique of interviewing the candidate, described in detail each stage of recruitment and selection of IT professionals and sales managers.
On Sunday, students got acquainted with the cultural environment of the city. Deputy Director of the Yaroslavl Art Museum Fedorchuk Alexey made a wonderful sightseeing tour. And in the art museum program director Natalia  Ivanova conducted a training session with students. With the help of paintings presented in the museum, the students determined the connection between the cultural and business environment of the city.
Such travels are an important part of training a business psychologists. This is the same fieldwork that enriches culturally and professionally. Ahead of us waiting for new exciting trips.
