On May 24th students of the programme "Population and Development" met Dr. Melita Vujnovic, World Health Organization Representative in Russia, who gave a talk on the agency’s perspectives and ambitious plans for the nearest future. She kindly answered all the questions, encouraged to get familiar with WHO latest reports, and recommend to apply for internships.

Love Umesi as one of the Winners of the 2017 Higher School of Economics NIRS Research Paper Competition was invited among all to the  ‘‘Academicus Modus’’ Field Research and Education School at the Voronovo Study Centre HSE, from 2nd to 4th March 2018, where the participants were privileged to attend courses on different aspects of academic skills development

February 16, Population and Development Master’s students visited the United Nations office in Russia where they had a chance to get familiar with the activities of various UN agencies. In their presentations, representatives of UNDP, UN Information Centre, FAO, and UNAIDS covered the topics, such as the organisational structure of the agencies, previous and current projects in both Russia and abroad, and internship and job opportunities.

The Department of State and Municipal Administration of the Faculty of Social Sciences of NRU HSE and the Institute of Demography of NRU HSE invite you to participate in the IV International Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists, for Post-Graduate Students and Students in 'Population, Public Health and Development'. This Conference is the fourth one of the series of annual all-Russian scientific conferences of young scientists, graduate students and students 'Public Administration and Social Policy'.

On January 16, our students have participated in Гайдаровский форум (Gaidar Forum) - an annual event that discusses major trends in social-and-economic and political development.
This year the Forum was devoted to the topic "Russia and the World: Values and Vurtues".

On Tuesday, November 7th instead of 100 Anniversary of the October Socialist Revolution celebration the students of the Programme got a chance to listen to a lecture by Martin McKee. The lecture was devoted to achieving the health sustainable development goals. Dr. Martin McKee is professor of European Public Health at London Schools of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM)

The International Conference on Migration tagged “New Trends and Directions of Migration” was held in National Research University- Higher School of Economics from 26th to 27th October, 2017 to look at some of the issues that borders on current migration and challenges.

The 19^th World Festival of Youth and Students was held from the 14^th to 22^nd October 2017 in Sochi, Russia. More than 5,000 volunteers were kind enough to welcome and help all the delegates from the various point of arrival till students got settled in, even while it rained heavily. Students of our program, Love Umesi, Ola Bamidele, Oni Isaac and Obiri Emmanuel had a chance to participate in that wonderful Festival.
