V Young Scientists Congress 2025
Our student Agi Comfort Obahi had the opportunity to attend the V Young Scientist Congress in November 2025, which was held at Sirius University of Science and Technology in Sochi. You can find further information about the experience in this article.

The Congress brought together a large and diverse community of Young Scientists and researchers from across Russian regions, Africa and several other foreign countries. The scale of participation and the international composition of attendees created a vibrant environment for exchange, collaboration and learning. Through out the venue, there was a strong sense of shared purpose around the role of Science and technology in shaping future development pathways.
One of the central components of the Congress was the large-scale exhibition of several scientific projects, prototypes and breakthrough technologies such as microprocessor-controlled prosthetic limbs, advanced medical devices for surgical applications, next-generation wearable sensors, and focused ultrasound techniques for targeted tumour treatment. Individual innovators and research teams presented applied solutions and experimental models designed to address real-world challenges and attract potential investors. The exhibition highlighted innovation across multiple sectors, with particular emphasis on technological advancement and applied research. There were representatives from major organizations including Sberbank and Alfa-Bank reinforcing the link between scientific creativity, and investment.
Beyond the exhibitions, the Congress provided meaningful opportunities for engagement with leaders of the scientific community, representatives of leading scientific and technological companies and government officials. Through informal conversations, panel discussions and expert sessions young scientists were encouraged to reflect critically on the social, economic and policy dimensions of scientific innovation. Several sessions focused on major issues in scientific and agricultural development, food security and technological resilience.
Despite the limited time at the event, Agi Comfort Obahi was able to observe the high level of intellectual energy and ambition that characterized the Congress. The atmosphere fostered openness, curiosity, and mutual respect, allowing participants to exchange ideas across disciplines, national boundaries, and institutional backgrounds. This interaction underscored the importance of platforms that empower young researchers not only to present their work, but also to situate it within broader scientific and societal debates.
Overall, the visit to the V Young Scientific Congress 2025 was a valuable experience for Agi Comfort Obahi. It reinforced the importance of international scientific dialogue and highlighted the growing role of young researchers in advancing innovation and shaping the future of science and technology. The Congress stands out as a meaningful contribution to the wider Decade of Science and Technology, and the participation has further strengthened the motivation to engage in research that connects knowledge production with real-world impact.
