To mark the start of the academic year on the Public Policy Department and master program of "Political Analysis and a Public Policy" staff organized the introductory meeting for the newcomers to the Program. Adjusting to COVID-19 dangers, the meeting was held online and it was joined by all the teaching staff and most of the accepted students, including those who were still in their home countries, waiting for the borders to be opened .

The meeting was joined by all the key teaching staff and the Study Office. Professors were sharing the courses they teach and their academic interests and projects, inviting new students to start planning their future activities, including term papers.

Study office has prepared the presentation on how students can obtain useful documents ad services as well as the general describtion of HSE and its study processes. The meeting then was joined by Alexandra Pozhivotko, the administration assistant for the Department, who also described the work of Teaching Assistances and Learning Consultants, that help students with administrative questions. Another important feature of this meeting - presence of the representatives of Student Council - Anna Filipiak and Maria Mahmutova. They described their annual projects, such as "Human Rights Week", intersectional 1st year-2nd year students’ meetings, online debates, a new format that was created out of necessity but finally proved its advantages - and other planned activities, including feminist workshops or seminars. This attracted several students to join Student Council even before the studies have begun. The Student Council reminded newcomers that they can always seek help and representation from Council members as their main goal is to defend the rights and interests of students, to ensure a high-quality and comfortable educational process.
