Open online lecture "Global Policy Advisory Systems" by Dr. Leslie Pal

Without a formal world government, however, the sources and processes of global policy-making are complex and multi-dimensional, branching out well beyond formal treaty-making bodies in the UN system. Of particularly interest in this presentation is the generation of policy advice and what we call “global policy advisory systems.” In this presentation, which is a part of our master's programme course Global Actors in Public Policy, Dr. Pal highlights some of the results of a three-year study of these systems, and current work on the role of global policy summits such as the World Economic Forum and the Doha Forum.

During six days, with the support of the members of Vladimir’s independent journal, Dovod (“Argument”), the group of students, under supervision of their professors, was responsible to interact with the local population, interviewing entities connected with the museum, social communication, and the regional educational institutions.
