Prof. Sanjay K. Rajhans from HSE Public Policy Department visited the University of Torino in March 2020 as a visiting professor at the Department of Cultures, Politics and Society and in April as a visiting scientist at the Department of Law within the activities of the Program "Departments of Excellence 2018-2022", funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research.

This event was a first meeting of the group. Prof. Schlaufer started the work with general introduction into the Narrative Policy Framework (NPF) - what are the roots of this theory and what are the components of policy narrative.
From the 24th to the 30th of October 2019, a group of fifteen students and three professors from the National Research University Higher School of Economics, had the opportunity to participate in an ethnological expedition to Vladimir. The reason that led the group of students to this city was the local clash of ideals – if not mentalities - related with its central museum. During six days, with the support of the members of Vladimir’s independent journal, Dovod (“Argument”), the group of students, under supervision of their professors, was responsible to interact with the local population, interviewing entities connected with the museum, social communication, and the regional educational institutions.
Annual series of events, organized by students of the department, was timed to the International Human Rights Day and aimed to raise people's awareness of human rights violations. This year events were mostly dedication to internal Russian challenges. A few new formats were included as well, which you can read about below.
Professor Alberto Eugenio Ermenegildo Pirni of Sant’Anna University, Pisa, Italy, visited the Department of Public Policy as a guest lecturer for the Project Seminar class, on 30th of September, 2019. Alberto Eugenio is also the coordinator of the research area in Public Ethics in the Institute of Law, Politics and Development at the Sant’Anna University and is a visiting professor at NRU-HSE, St. Petersburg.
On September 30, the Department of Public Policy held an orientation meeting with the first-year students. Professors of the "Political Analysis and public policy" programme of the HSE Faculty of Social Sciences told students about what to expect from the study process with the help of 2nd-year students.
We are glad to congratulate our graduates with succesful defenses of their master's theses and the culmination of a learning marathon that each student has worked hard to complete. The weeklong visit of the secretary General of International Public Policy Association at the Department of Public Policy of School of Political Science took place last week.
Last week, the students from the Public Policy Department had the amazing opportunity to attend a public lecture by one of the great minds and contributors to the Public Policy field – Emeritus Professor of Policy and Knowledge – Doctor Robert Hoppe.
Between the 1st and the 4th of March, 7 students from the Political Analysis and Public Policy Master's Degree traveled to the Estonian capital of Tallinn to participate in an Election Observation Mission for the 2019 Riigikogu elections.
