DASS Webinar "Computational Social and Network Sciences" study track

On 22 May at 18:00, the online «Data Analytics and Social Statistics» Master's programme (DASS) will hold an open day about "Computational Social and Network Sciences" stydy track.


The "Computational Social and Network Sciences" study track of the «Data Analytics and Social Statistics» online Master's programme (DASS) allows students to gain knowledge at the intersection of exact and social sciences. Daria Maltseva, Head of the International Laboratory of Applied Network Analysis, and Tamara Shcheglova, Junior Research Associate, will explain that the courses in the track introduce students to the mathematical apparatus and methods of statistical analysis, the use of computer science methods and tools for data collection, processing and modelling, and the use of the theoretical and methodological apparatus of the social sciences for research design, interpretation and presentation of results.

The track will be of interest both to students with a basic education in the social sciences and humanities, who will be able to gain knowledge in working with big data and its advanced analysis, and to students with a basic education in the exact sciences, who will be able to gain the skills necessary for research in sociology, psychology, political science, economics, linguistics and other social sciences. Graduates of this track of the programme will be able to work in the research industry in the field of applied social research, applying advanced methods of studying various social phenomena and processes.
