Online intensive course "Introduction to Exploratory Data Analysis"

Event ended

From June 1st to 3d, the online master's program "Data Analytics and Social Statistics" will hold a three-day intensive course on data analytics.

The intensive course will be led by Mikhail Meshkov, Anastasia Bystrova, and Irina Pavlova, team members of the International Laboratory for Applied Network Research.

This intensive course introduces the fundamentals of data analysis and applied statistics to beginning researchers and analysts. Participants will learn the theoretical foundations of statistics, measurement scales, data formats, and the key analysis tools—R and Python.

Special attention will be paid to critical reading of data and visualizations: how to interpret graphs, recognize statistical biases, and avoid common pitfalls in analysis. The practical portion includes mastering the basic syntax of R and Python, working with dataframes, importing data, conducting exploratory analysis, and constructing initial visualizations to find insights.
