Cost of living in Moscow for students:

The cost of living in Moscow as a student depends on the lifestyle and activities of the student. The average amount of necessary expenses varies from 20,000 to 25,000 rubles per month.

Food:

In the canteen of the NIU HSE, breakfast/lunch will cost you about 250-300 RUB. Moscow has a huge variety of restaurants and cafes for every taste. You can usually have a good lunch for about 800-1200 RUB per person. Fast food restaurants will cost you much cheaper - for about 250-300 RUB per pearson. The cost of buying food and drinks and cooking at home is about 2,000 RUB per week, where prices for fruits and vegetables vary depending on the season.

Health Insurance:

An annual medical insurance policy for the amount of $15,000 in compensation costs about 7,500 RUB. This is equivalent to a $50,000 health insurance policy abroad (medical fees in Moscow are less than elsewhere). Private medical centers also offer more expensive insurance policies (about 40,000 - 100,000 roubles per year).

Transportation:

Internet is available on campus free of charge (classrooms, library, etc.). All Moscow campuses of the NIU HSE have free Wi-Fi. Mobile Internet can cost from 300 to 1000 rubles per month.

Residence in a student dorm at the NIU HSE:

If the student prefers to live in a separate room outside the dorm, room rental prices depend on market prices and factors such as proximity to subway stations, location, etc.; usually, the cost per room in the apartment is around 25,000 rubles per month excluding utilities.
