An intensive course on no-code analytics tools from the Master's program "Data Analytics and Social Statistics"
On April 25, the Data Analytics and Social Statistics Master's program held a one-day intensive course, "Data Analysis Without Code."

"Data Analysis Without Code" was a one-day intensive course that immersed participants in modern data analysis methods without coding. Participants learned how to explore various connections between people, publications, and ideas, as well as how to find patterns in tables and text data.
In the first part of the intensive course, we covered network analysis: from mapping scientific publications and co-authorships to analyzing real social connections using the no-code programs VOSviewer and Polinode.
In the second part, participants tried machine learning and analysis methods, visualizing text data in the Orange environment. They learned about AI automation and how modern digital assistants work.
This intensive course thus covered various data types—networks, tables, and text—that can be analyzed using accessible no-code tools. The course included brief theory and practical examples to illustrate the full data analysis process, from data collection to interpretation of results.
A recording of the intensive course is available:
This year, we reconsidered our approach to organizing events for our prospective students and planned two intensive courses: one on data analysis without programming languages and one on data intelligence. We traditionally hold themed summer schools, but these are highly content-rich events that require a full week of immersion. Given time constraints, not everyone can afford such intense participation, which may also require attending in person. Currently, there's a demand for shorter, more compact events that are easy to fit into your schedule and can be replayed. Our first online intensive course took place on Saturday, April 25th. We believe it was a great success. We presented several programs and tools that don't require programming languages. These tools address a variety of professional needs, and we wanted to highlight the diversity of opportunities and trajectories for developing professional skills and expertise while studying in our master's program.
