International Students at HSE

I am an international student at HSE

Andy, Stella, Kristina and Brenda, Applied Social Psychology international students, share their experiences of life in Moscow and at HSE:

«HSE aims to comfort all international students and respond to their needs. It gave me the opportunity to be a part of a supporting and friendly community. I am happy to be a member of HSE international family» - Kristina.

The University provides support in adaptation for new international students through the network of buddies. All newly admitted international students are assisted by fellow Russian students assigned to them during their enrollment process.

«I had a very good buddy who helped me with all my registrations and met me at the airport to show me to my dorm. She always responds to me if I need help and checks up on me from time to time. With the help of my buddy and some course mates, I have been able to visit Gorki Park, Red Square, Jesus Christ Cathedral and many other prominent places in Moscow» - Stella.

There are numerous extra-curriculum activities at HSE. “The free Russian Language course for international students is especially good. The instructors are patient with us and are always ready to correct us when we make mistakes. I really enjoy that class, because hrough that course I am able to communicate well, especially with people who only speak Russian» - Stella.

Moreover, «The University supports various student activities as well. Within the HSE structure student clubs invite students with different interest to take part in various events such as festivals, competitions, language and dance lessons, cultural exchange events» - Kristina.

Last fall our students from Ghana participated in New Year’s singing contest. “It was a lot of fun when my friends from Ghana and I were invited to take part in The Voice HSE» - Stella.

A few words about life in Moscow:

«From my experience I can say that living in Moscow is an adventure. Students are welcomed to engage in the cultural and social life of the city by visiting exhibitions, concerts, circus performances, or ice skating rinks» – Kristina.

With almost two years here I call it my second home already!» - Andy.

«If I were given the opportunity, I would choose HSE and Moscow all over again. I adapted to this new society without even realizing it» - Brenda.
