"This way of teaching with great involvement of the students while learning from each other fits very well with me"

Maxim Sinnema, International Business Student from the Avans University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, attending the Higher School of Economics in Moscow as a free mover for the fall semester of 2018, is sharing his feedback on the courses of the programme.

As a 4th grade international student in Business Administration (BBA) I like to share my opinion on the master program "Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation", based on my background in marketing, sales and management. I attend this programme during the semester of October - December 2018, at the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge at the National Research University Higher School of Economics.

With no experience in master programmes I attend the courses User Innovation, Strategies in STI Management and Corporate Foresight. My overall impression is very positive. The lectures are well organised and structured. I gain a lot of useful knowledge that I expect to be very useful for me in my future career. To me that is most important.

The course User Innovation is new this semester. This course is distinguished by the flexible design and the large degree of interaction between the students and lecturers. This way of teaching with great involvement of the students while learning from each other fits very well with me. For example, I have learned to look differently at economic development.

So far I have not yet seen a course that is as extensive as Strategies in STI Management. I consider this course as an introduction to all important aspects of business and management. Many different lecturers will introduce to the students a variety of different disciplines that can be found in the world of business. To all students attending this program, I highly recommend Strategies in STI Management.

Finally, the Corporate Foresight course, which taught me how to apply the methodology of corporate foresight. This method helps companies to stay ahead of the competition by constantly having an overview of all relevant market developments. I find this method very useful because it is applicable in all sectors. What I also find appealing about this course are the assignments in which students give presentations in an interactive way. Presenting your own elaborated ideas where the other students are obliged to ask questions is to my opinion a great opportunity to improve your presentation skills.
