When asked what motivated him to study at HSE, Divyanshu highlights the strong reputation of the university in innovation management and its international ranking. The applied nature of the programme, combined with the diversity of its international cohort, gave him both practical knowledge and a global perspective. The courses in Science, Technology and Innovation, he notes, provided a strong foundation that he still applies today in his professional life.

Currently, Divyanshu works as a Senior Manager at Daytraa Business Solutions in India, where he focuses on enabling international companies to enter and grow in the Indian market. He explains that what excites him most is the variety and challenges of each project, whether in technology, manufacturing, or other industries. “It is particularly satisfying,” he says, “to see the strategies that we shaped and developed actually be implemented and lead to their success.”

The transition from Moscow back to India was not without its difficulties. He recalls that adapting the theoretical knowledge acquired at HSE to the complex realities of the Indian market required significant effort. “While my HSE education provided me with a robust framework, the practical use still took much on-the-ground learning about local business culture, regulatory hurdles, and market dynamics,” he reflects.

Looking back, Divyanshu emphasizes two skills as the most valuable from his studies: strong research abilities, which he uses daily for market and competitor analysis, and the global perspective he gained from working with classmates from many different countries. “It taught me how to approach business through different cultural lenses, which I feel is very important in my work now.”

His advice for current students and young professionals interested in international business is clear: remain flexible and open to opportunities.

International business is an ever-changing world, and what you learn from a book or in the classroom is just the start. Don’t hesitate to accept new assignments and opportunities, no matter how intimidating they may seem. Also, build a network of diverse contacts and remain intrigued by culture and various markets.

Reflecting on his time in Moscow, Divyanshu describes it as a truly unforgettable experience. He recalls the unique intellectual atmosphere at HSE, the generosity of faculty and staff, and the vibrant life in the dormitory, where late-night study sessions, cooking meals together, and spirited debates with friends became as important as lectures in the classroom. “Moscow itself was a source of inspiration with a wonderful architectural landscape, deep history, and a dynamic cultural setting. It was an experience I will never forget and was paramount to the person I am today.”
