Main Responsibilities

    

Strategic Planning and Analysis

  

Facilitates the work of experts designated by national delegations; active collaboration with the experts, conducting policy-relevant analysis and drafting policy reports

Design, supervise, and execute the work programme; develop projects in liaison with third parties, international organizations, and other stakeholders

Identify and monitor topics for substantive activities, notably issues at the intersection of science and public policy. Carry out strategic planning, orientation, and oversight of programme work related to high-priority science policy issues requiring consultations

Candidate Profile

    

Academic Background

An advanced university degree in the physical, life, and engineering sciences, S&T policy, or another field relevant to the position. A multidisciplinary academic background would be an advantage.

Experience in conducting multidisciplinary work on a broad range of scientific issues

 

Experience involving science policy decisions, especially those concerning the establishment and operation of complex co-operative projects
