Corporate Culture on the Spot: Creativity Seminar at Yandex

On December 4, 2018, 2nd year students of the ISSEK master’s programme “Governance of STI” visited Yandex headquarters – that was the Seminar “Corporate Culture, encouraging creativity and innovation” within the course by Mikhail Gershman “Managing Creativity and Innovation”. The visit was organized with the help of Ekaterina Shor – a 2018-year graduate of the master’s programme and an employee at Yandex.

Master’s programme held 3 rd graduation ceremony for the students receiving their degrees. Totally 35 graduates were honored to obtain their master’s diplomas, with 9 students as participants of the double degree programme with TU Berlin. The Academic supervisor of the programme Dirk Meissner, ISSEK Deputy Director Alexander Sokolov, Head of the Department for Economy and Science from the German Embassy Thomas Graf and Coordinator of the Double Degree programme from TUB Jan Kratzer congratulated the master’s students, expressed their wishes for the future endeavors and encouraged to take advantage of all further challenges through the prism of knowledge acquired at the programme.

Last May, Katerina Shipilova, the graduate of ‘Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation' Masters’ Programme, told us about her experience of launching a paper collection start-up ‘MK Service’. After the graduation Katerina launched one more project: Walk&Talk Tours – walking tours in English. This time we asked her about the differences of touristic business, development plans and some tips for starting you one enterprise.

I decided to look for my vocation by challenging myself and embracing the change. While doing my second year of the Master´s programme, I helped my friend and groupmate Katerina Shipilova to develop a startup company for paper collection MK Service. The startup represented an official partner of the youth festival for environment and sustainable development “VuzEcoFest” 2017. Being engaged in the environmental area made me realize that I want to proceed further in this direction. The main question is to understand what I want to do exactly. Here comes the fascinating part - my participation in the European Voluntary Service.

7th Annual International Academic Conference Foresight and STI Policy

On November 1–2, 2017, Higher School of Economics will host its 7 th  Annual International Academic Conference "Foresight and STI Policy" organised by HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge. This year, the conference will be devoted to the role of society in search for grand responses to grand challenges.

Master’s Degree, what next?

On June 30, at the graduation ceremony students of the ISSEK Master's programme"Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation" will meet up to go separate ways after. It is interesting, what paths will they choose? We present one of the 42 career tracks of the students of the 2017 graduation class - the story of Daria Kuzmina, who has recently started working at the International Association of Public Transport (Brussels).
