Supercomputer Simulations in Science and Engineering
This programme is designed to train specialists in the field of development, research and application of modern methods of supercomputer simulationsand processing of large volumes of data in science and engineering. Setting it apart from other courses of study, the curriculum boasts both scientific and design components and involves specialists in Russia and abroad in the fields of supercomputer simulationsand high-performance computer systems. Graduates are sought after by IT departments of government corporations, major IT firms and scientific research institutions.
As part of the promotion of modern supercomputer technologies for the needs of scientific research, SAMMA laboratory organized the second school-seminar "Supercomputers in scientific research: the horizons of multi-scale modeling and effective supercomputer co-design". This event brings together developers of advanced supercomputer technologies and scientists who use high-performance computing in their research. The first day was devoted to the analysis of new technical solutions for high-performance computing, and the second to applications of supercomputer modeling, molecular dynamics simulations in the real problems of materials science and molecular biology.
From October 26-27, a regular meeting of the Russian Academic Excellence Project 5-100 was held in Kaliningrad. The academic institutions involved in the project presented the results of their work and plans for the upcoming period of their respective roadmaps.
HSE has once again climbed the THE World University Ranking and entered the 301 – 350 range, taking 3rd place in Russia after MSU (199) and MIPT (251-300). HSE first appeared in this ranking two years ago and every subsequent year the university has consistently improved its standing.
