Shukhov Lab announced participants of Summer School ‘Urban Meditation’
Within two weeks 20 students will fabricate a full-scale prototype of an interactive object and present it at the popular science festival Geek Picnic 2019 in Moscow
In May 2019, the International Laboratory for the Experimental Urban Design Shukhov Lab announced an open call for architects, designers and young professionals in the field of urban planning and urban development to participate in Summer School ‘Urban Meditation’.
An expert jury selected 20 participants among 72 applications based on their portfolio.

Within the Shukhov Lab Summer School, students will become familiar with the Rhinoceros 3D and Grasshopper 3D programs, learn modern design and digital fabrication methods. Concentrating their attention on the territory of the Sparrow Hills in Moscow, students will explore the sound landscape of the area, reinterpreting the dichotomy between audial environmental friendliness and noise pollution. The final installation and urban research will be presented at the science festival Geek Picnic 2019 in Moscow.
Summer School is curated by Maria Kuptsova, an architect, researcher and teacher at the Institute of Urban Design, University of Innsbruck (Austria) and curator of Master's programme in Digital Arts at the Far Eastern Federal University together with the experts from Shukhov Lab and Graduate School of Urbanism.
