Programme Overview

The Master's program “Master’s Program 'Experience Economy: Hospitality Management and Tourism'” provides fundamental education in the field of the hospitality and tourism management. 

At the very beginning of their study students study Adaptation courses – Econometrics, Marketing and Organizational Behavior to acquire basic economic and managerial knowledge for a more effective study for a master degree at the National Research University Higher School of Economics. These courses are aimed at the graduates who got their bachelor degrees in  economics, humanities, and technical sciences. 

During the two years of study students study modern hospitality and tourism  management concepts, approaches and tools in the field of hotel and tourism business, as well as Russian and international experience in their application. 

Besides that, research competencies of students are formed. This is achieved by conducting independent research, presenting the results in the format of course work, project presentations, presentations at seminars and conferences, participation in a research seminar and writing a master's thesis. 

Internship at the 1st and the 2nd year is aimed at  the practical skills obtaining as well as gathering data for the Master Thesis preparation.

Faculty
Leading professors of the Higher School of Economics are involved in the implementation of the program.In addition, visiting professors from leading foreign universities, as well as practitioners from the hotel industry teach at the program.

Graduates
Graduates of the program are in demand at independent hotels and hotel chains, as well as travel companies.Graduates who choose the scientific direction of professional development have the opportunity to start their integration into the global scientific community already during the learning process, and then pursue a career in research and teaching activities.
