International seminar "Crosslinguistic studies of aphasia" by Roelien Bastiaanse

On July 29-30, Roelien Bastiaanse, leading foreign collaborator of Laboratory of Neurolinguistics, held a seminar "Crosslinguistic studies of aphasia" and discussed the joint Russian - Spanish project "Attrition of aspect contrapositions in aphasia and bilingualism". At the seminar Roelien Bastiaanse told about the variety of speech disorders and put emphasis on the fact that aphasia can cause disorders at different language levels. The lecturer listed different ways which can be used for assessment and treatment of aphasia. Roelien Bastiaanse paid attention to the peculiarities and criteria of selecting patients, testing design, she told how to interprete speech mistakes of patients and what are the statistical methods of data analysis.
