Vision Modelling Lab invites applications for postdoctoral research positions

Vision Modelling Lab invites applications for postdoctoral research positions to work on computational models of top-down attention and control of eye movements.

The Vision Modelling Laboratory at the Higher School of Economics under Dr. Joseph MacInnes, is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher under the program for attracting Russian Postdocs. We are an interdisciplinary lab with interests in attention, eye tracking, machine learning and neuroscience.  Our current objective is to run experiments on the top down control of attention and eye movements and build computer models based on the results.  We use experiment paradigms that include visual search, foraging, attention games, Inhibition of return, and task switching among others.  Our models incorporate techniques from deep learning, drift diffusion, Bayesian networks and genetic algorithms.  We are looking for a candidate with a degree in psychology, neurophysiology, neuroscience or computer science.  You may have experience in some combination of experiment design, statistics, machine learning,  and eye tracking but we don’t expect you to start with a mastery in all of these.  Our lab is a friendly, international group and we do most of our research in English.
