International summer school ‘ Intellectual History vis-a-vis the Sociology of Knowledge: Between Models and Cases ’. Moscow, August 28-30, 2014
From August 28 – 30, 2014, the HSE Poletayev Institute for Historical and Theoretical Studies in the Humanities is organizing an international summer school ‘Intellectual History vis-a-vis the Sociology of Knowledge: Between Models and Cases’.
The participants will focus on discussing interdisciplinary synthesis and terminology innovations in the sociology of knowledge and historical science, as well as on evaluating the analytical perspectives of contemporary trends in social sciences (Charles Camic’s ‘new sociology of ideas’, Frickel and Gross's theory of intellectual movements, Wittrock’s synthesis of the history of concepts and theories of multiple modernity) in order to reconceptualize the history of ideas, intellectuals, and ‘sites of knowledge’.
