open lectures on popular science topics are being organized by the HSE Lyceum for high school students in grades 9-11. The first lecture will take place this Saturday, October 18.
Professor Georgii Gloveli of the Subdepartment of Economic Methodology and History (Department of Theoretical Economics) at the HSE will tell students about Russian economic life. They will learn how the sectoral structure and peculiar institutions of Russia’s economy evolved under the influence of both natural elements and relations with neighboring states. They will also learn about how business transformed, as well as about how forms of government intervention in the economy changed along with changes in the Russian state.
The lecture hall will operate as part of a citywide project called ‘University Saturdays’. Lectures will be held on a variety of topics ranging from economics to philosophy and will be delivered by teachers at the Lyceum and the Higher School of Economics.
The schedule for the lectures is posted on the HSE Lyceum website. Online registration (in Russian) is required to attend the lectures.
