XVII April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development

On April 19-22, 2016 in Moscow, the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) with a support of the World Bank organizes the XVII April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development. The Conference Program Committee is chaired by Professor Evgeny Yasin.

The plenary sessions and special round tables will feature senior Russian Government officials including representatives of the Presidential Administration, high-level representatives of the World Bank, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the CEOs of several largest Russian and international companies.

Special topics of the conference are:

• Analysis of growth problems;
• Modernization from above: Facilities and Limits;
• Economic decentralization and local self-government;
• Values, trust and cooperation.

The plenary sessions, including selected honorary papers, sessions and round tables, will be devoted to (but not restricted on) the special issues of the Conference.

Session meetings and round tables on the problems of economic and social development will be held after the plenary sessions. 

On the conference website applicants can get acquainted with the main scientific issues of the Conference.

Working languages of the Conference are Russian and English. Simultaneous translation will be available during all plenary and some session meetings

Participants are invited to submit extended abstracts of their research papers for presentation at the Conference sessions. Submissions will be accepted from September 9, 2015 till November 11, 2015, only through on-line registration at the website.

Participants from the CIS and Eastern Europe countries whose papers are included in the program may apply for a grant from the Moscow Office of the World Bank to compensate travel or accommodation expenses. All applications should be sent at interconf@hse.ru until February 8, 2016.

The series of workshops will be organized as well for doctoral students and post-graduate students (with the possibility of travel grants for selected speakers). All Information about participation in these workshops will be available on the website soon.

Online registration for participation without presenting a paper will be available from November 12, 2015 until March 22, 2016 at the website.
