Does Culture Matter for Development?

On April 15th a round-table discussion entitled ‘Does Culture Matter for Development?' took place at the Higher School of Economics. Chandran Kukathas, Professor at the London School of Economics, opened the discussion with his report. You can watch a video of the event here.

The event was organized by the HSE together with the ‘Liberal Mission'Foundation.

Chandran Kukathas is Professor of Political Theory at the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE) Department of Government. Previously he has taught at the Royal Military College, Canberra, Oxford University, the Australian National University, the University of New South Wales, the Australian Defence Force Academy and the University of Utah.

Dr. Kukathas's research interests include the history of liberal thought, contemporary liberal theory and multiculturalism.
