Imanol Ordorika to speak on ‘ The Political Nature of Universities ’

On October 17, 2017 Imanol Ordorika, Professor of Social Sciences and Education, National Autonomous University of Mexico, will present a report on ‘The Political Nature of Universities’ at the Seminar Series ‘Current Research and Development in Education’ organised by HSE Institute of Education.

Abstract:

The characteristics of the university as a political institution where a continuing struggle for power is. This contest takes place at different dimensions of power (instrumental, agenda control and hegemony) and its objects of confrontation are: access, uses of knowledge and resources.
