The Neuropsy Lab announces two mini-courses. They will start on October 24th. Everybody is welcome.

The first one is an online mini-course on ‘Mental-Attentional Capacity Assessment in Children’.

Overview:

This course is designed to train students to provide effective cognitive assessment services for children and adolescents primarily in schools and other settings.  This first part of the course will focus on mental-attentional capacity assessments.  It will cover historical, theoretical background on cognitive assessments and standard normative performance across development.  The second part of the course will focus on the ability to administer tests of mental-attentional capacity.

The second is an online mini-course on ‘MRI Safety’.

Overview:

This course is designed to provide standard operating procedures for students interested in contacting studies that use magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).  MRI is a non-invasive technique for imaging internal body parts and it can also be very safe if proper safety procedures are used. Strong magnetic fields present unique hazards to research participants and MRI personnel.  For this reason, it is important for everyone using an MRI Facility to be aware of MRI safety procedures.  This course will include an overview of MR system components, general safety procedures, and MR screening.
