International students are welcome to submit their applications to HSE University via the convenient online application platform. Personal consultations with the Admissions Office are available to help applicants make the right choice and prepare all the necessary documents. There is a wide range of degree programmes to choose from, including English and Russian-taught programmes as well as online and in-person degree options offered by all four HSE University campuses.

Every year, HSE University is becoming increasingly popular with international applicants. In 2021, 8,354 online applications were submitted, with 5,285 students applying for undergraduate degrees and 3,069 for Master's programmes. Despite pandemic restrictions, 2,055 students from 156 countries have enrolled at HSE University in 2021.

International applicants can apply for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in a separate admissions process for international applicants and receive scholarships with full or partial tuition fee coverage. For Admissions 2022, there are 1300 full-tuition scholarships available and 800 scholarships, covering 25, 50 or 70% of the tuition. In order to qualify for a scholarship, submit your application early (by March 1, 2022).

Undergraduate applicants can test their chances of admission now by taking mock tests. Master’s applicants also have the opportunity to get a preliminary assessment of their portfolio and communicate with their programme of choice online.

'If applicants want to get a full scholarship, they should prepare for the bachelor entrance exams thoroughly. Master's applicants should carefully check all the criteria regarding the documents required for portfolio competitions.'

Applications for undergraduate programmes will be accepted until August 14, 2022. Applicants need to submit the required documents and pass entrance tests online or in-person. When applying to a Bachelor’s programme, it is possible to submit international certificates you have received in English and mathematics, such as IELTS, TOEFL, A-Level and other international exams and they will be recognized by HSE University, so taking entrance exams in relevant subjects will not be required.

Master’s admissions will be open until August 10, 2022. Applicants should submit their portfolios online. Short-listed candidates can be invited for an interview with the academic supervisors of the relevant programme. Portfolio requirements differ from programme to programme and can be found on programme websites.
