Luciana Forti to speak on 'L2 Phraseology Research in Light of Potential Applications to Second Language Pedagogy'

On May 26, 2022 Luciana Forti, researcher and lecturer in Applied linguistics at the University for Foreigners of Perugia, Italy, will speak on 'L2 Phraseology Research in Light of Potential Applications to Second Language Pedagogy'.

Abstract:
In this talk, I will illustrate the main methods and preliminary findings of a collaborative research project aimed at expanding the scope of L2 phraseological complexity research. The implications of complexity theory for L2 phraseology research at large will be discussed, in light of potential applications to second language pedagogy.

About the speaker:
Luciana Forti is a researcher and lecturer in Applied linguistics at the University for Foreigners of Perugia, Italy. She obtained her PhD in 2019 with a thesis entitled Developing phraseological competence in Italian L2: a study on the effects of Data-driven learning. Her current research interests include corpus use in second language pedagogy, L2 phraseology and learner corpus research. She teaches theories and research methods in second language acquisition.
