Round table "Approaches to a BRICS-Centric International Monetary System"

On 16 April, on the margins of the XXV Yasin (April) International Academic Conference on Economic and Socila Development, a round table "Approaches to a BRICS-Centric International Monetary System" will be held.

 

The roundtable is organised by the BRICS Expert Council—Russia and will be held within the framework of the International Thematic Group "Economics" of the BRICS Network University ITG.

The experts will discuss:

• What are the solutions to the challenges faced by the BRICS countries in the dollar-centred monetary system?
• Creating a BRICS unit of account — an impossible plan or a real possibility?
• What are the ways to improve the liquidity of national currencies within the BRICS interaction?
• What is the potential role of development institutions in reforming the international monetary system?

The discussion will bring together experts from Brazil, Russia, India, South Africa, Malaysia.
