Workshop "Where and how Russian scientists publish their internationally visible papers"

While talking about scientific communication and academic English in the Russian context, it is important to rely on current factual data on publication activity. This activity has undergone major changes due to external factors. In this talk, the speaker will give an overview of the key changes. He will  focus on comparative dynamics of Russian publications across different groups of journals and conferences, covering  the period of 2020-2026. He will analyze publications at the levels of publishers, topics, language, source reputation, and open access modes. Special attention will be given to shifting international collaboration. In addition, he will explore the growing share of publications devoted to and using AI.

Speaker: Ivan Sterligov is a specialist in applied scientometrics and research evaluation and a Senior Advisor at E-Quadrat Science & Education. Previously, he founded and led the Scientometrics Center at the HSE University. He has published in Research Evaluation, JASIST, the Journal of Informetrics, and Scientometrics and regularly delivers educational courses in the field of scholarly communication.
